By higway and state routes:

- from South: the faster way is to travel by A23 highway until the Carnia exit. From here you must follow the Tolmezzo indications.
- from East: trough the Fusine/Ratece (Ita/Slo border) and Coccau (Ita/Aut border) (through Tarvisio, Camporosso, Pontebba, Chiusaforte and Amaro). You could also travel by hyghway from Tarvisio to the Carnia exit.
- from North: by the Pramollo pass (through Pontebba, Chiusaforte and Amaro) and the Monte Croce Carnico pass (through Paluzza, Sutrio and Arta terme). The two pass are Ita/Aut borders.
- from West: by Cima Sappada (through Forni Avoltri, Comeglians, Ovaro and Villa Santina) and by the Mauria pass ( through Forni di sopra e di sotto, Ampezzo, Enemonzo and Villa Santina).

- By train: not suggested. The nearest station to Tolmezzo, 15 Km far, is the Carnia one. From here you must travel by Bus or by your own
- By autobus: you have to catch it at the Udine coach station
